There are greats and then there are great greats and Walt Kelly, creator of the comic character POGO still, in my opinion, rules. On top of the exquisite artwork, the strips were incredibly witty and satirical and to think Kelly's stuff used to run in big ol' Sunday color strips every week.
The above is a book I've kept since childhood (note the one dollar cover price...)

Well,well,well, Mr Vlaming. So you have begun to make yourself available electronically. Glad to see your mug again. Joined FB a few years back and, like millions others, began the quest to (as my kids would call it)creep into the lives of those who were a part of our past. Ah, but you were elusive. Fast forward some years later: I was reading an article this morning about the Oz, the Great and Powerful when I was hit with some weird need to google your name. I have no idea why, wasn't logged into FB, it just...happened. I won't drone on, just thought I would acknowledge the fact, send you a smiley face and inform you that there are still people in the TC's that wonder about you. D. Singleton :-)
